These mortality realization fits of mania are manifesting some fantastic toys. Wheels, there are two. And now, there are two accompanying cockpits.
Sure, I could've sprung for better everything, but I'm a cheap bitch. The Logitech G29 is a fine wheel once you dial-in the settings. We're using them exclusively for Gran Turismo 7 on OG phat PS5s with plans to broaden our driving library here shortly. The cockpit, or erm... folding chair, also serves its primary purpose. Wheel sticks to it (after applying some unadvised logic), not terribly uncomfortable, painfully adjustable, instructions written by a quadruple amputee in the Gulag with just enough noticeable effort to meet their daily labor requirement. Made by VEVOR, because of course it is.
VEVOR, WEEWOO, XTBYKS, etc. You know, all of our favorite brands. Quality shit at unrealistically low prices if you don't enjoy living in reality. For fucks sake. I will select a product costing a premium price if the company name is anything other than random name generator 7-billion character text slop. I mean, what else is Child Labor going to brainstorm as a company name when there's an ever changing product line? They've worked 19 hours straight, with only a bowl of rice to eat, and a grass mat to sleep. WOPITUES must produce cheap shelving solutions. QEEIG folding bath trays are selling like innocence.
I'm glad you asked about my Logitech G29 settings for Gran Turismo 7 on my OG phat PS5. First thing to know, the brake is kinda shit. Just how it is without some modding, which will likely be my next impulse purchase.
Brake pedal calibration - If you want to slow down without pressing your brake pedal to the point of breaking, adjust the maximum to approximately 68. This removes the necessity to push the pedal beyond it's natural stopping point.
Steering Sensitivity - 10. Trust in the system on this one. After running the 0 default to start, I stepped down to -2. Cars were less likely to spin, but I wasn't getting the feedback from the car I wanted. So for science, I just threw the setting into the full opposite, 10. You'll first think you've lost the tightness and feel of the wheel, but you'll soon realize it feels more like a real car with power steering. Really emphasizes the bite of tire to road when cornering. Also eliminates that weird spasming on straightaways you experience with higher speed cars.
Torque and FFB - After extensive dicking around, I've settled at 2 for torque, and 5 for FFB. I would love to explain my logic, but there really isn't any. I just tried a different combination every race until I found a pairing that felt right. I do believe wheel setting explanations in GT7 can be somewhat nebulous, so instead of trying to understand their logic behind each setting description, I just created my own theory.
Give these settings a whirl, and then tweak them for all eternity or sell your wheel. It's a slippery slope.
